High Property Value is short video about women’s subjection to societal values on beauty.  An older woman’s feet are deformed as a result of years of wearing high heels.  Painting her nails of her deformed feet highlight the absurdity of beauty. The beginning shot of a veil uncovering the feet alludes to the current crisis of French national identity and its denouncement of women wearing the veil. Women trained to be uncomfortably fashionable in the West are paralleled with women in the East whose dress is designed to hide and protect. Women both traditional and progressive cloth themselves as a expression of their social position relative to attracting/distracting men.
